So I just returned from my first trip around Spain w/ the class. We had an incredible time seeing some of the major cities in Southern Spain. We visited Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, and Seville. It was awesome to see the differences in the architecture of each city as each one was slightly different. Seeing this part of Spain made me realize how un-Spanish the architecture in Barcelona...it is much more French here. The Spanish influence is still here...just nothing like it is in Seville. Anyway, one thing in noticed in all the cities was that a lot of renovation was happening along with civic projects such as street scape projects for major avenues. Seville was a mess because they were installing a new light rail line through the center of town (where we were staying). I also noticed that Americans are all over this place. Students taking classes, people on vacation, backpackers, us...haha. I'm really glad we are doing this in the winter because i cannot imagine the number of tourists that must fill these towns up during the summer. Anyway, I had an awesome time and can't wait for feild trip 2.
people asleep on the train...we were always pretty tired from walking and going out almost every night
